Homemade "Desi" Skin Brightening Mask

If you're feeling creative and want to dabble with a quick homemade skin brightening mask, this is my go-to "Desi" recipe using ingredients sitting around in my kitchen cupboards. Its benefits are immense and it has an array of properties to nourish and illuminate your skin. It's great for dry, dull and acne-prone skin.

What you will need:

2 teaspoons of chickpea flour (for exfoliation)

1 teaspoon turmeric powder (for brightening)

1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice (for fading blemishes)

1 teaspoon of plain yogurt (for soothing)

1 teaspoon of honey (for moisturising)

Mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl to form a thick paste.
Apply to skin with fingers or an old makeup brush and leave on for 10-15 minutes or until the mask dries. If you have any mixture leftover you can keep it in a container in your fridge for a week.

Rinse well with warm water using either your hands or a dark coloured flannel to avoid any staining from the turmeric.

Please note: You may think you will look like Bart Simpson after this mask but trust us the turmeric will wash off and you will be left with a healthy natural glow!
